Cremorne Digital Hub
Wicked Innovations
- Planning and facilitation of a branded digital hackathon
- Delivery of professional event assets and a lean microsite
- Promoting digital innovations for relevant ‘wicked’ problems
The brief.
We were engaged by the Cremorne Digital Hub (CDH) to run a digital innovation competition. The purpose of the event was to raise awareness for the CDH and it’s services, which focus around providing free networking events that connect Victoria’s technology industry. The hackathon was designed to engage digital organisations from the Victorian suburb of Cremorne. Through a friendly competition format, participants were invited to pitch innovative digital solutions relating to relevant social issues (wicked problems).
The opportunity.
As one of the first major events hosted by the Cremorne Digital Hub, we wanted to deliver a hallmark experience that showcased the value of the organisation and it’s services. With the intention to run the event annually — and with full creative freedom from CDH — our opportunity was to generate as much hype as possible for the inaugural event. We wanted to design an interesting competition premise supported by an engaging microsite and a suite of marketing assets.
The result.
The CDH’s inaugural community challenge was held as part of 2023 Digital Innovation Festival. The hackathon format looked at three ‘Wicked Problems’: Homelessness, Social Isolation and Climate Change. It brought together some of Cremorne’s leading digital organisations to build networks across the community and engage their thought leaders in addressing some of the broader community’s greatest challenges. Participating teams included REA, Carsales, Bastion Agency, Kangan Institute, and more!
